Jamaican international Leon Bailey could be heading for a new club before the summer transfer window closes, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that negotiations are underway over the Aston Villa winger.

Romano reported on Saturday that Bailey is expected to leave Villa before the end of the window, with Al Diriyah, Hull City and Sevilla among the clubs that have made enquiries about the conditions required to sign the 29-year-old.

No agreement has been confirmed with any of the interested clubs, meaning Bailey’s next destination remains undecided as negotiations continue.

Three Clubs Showing Interest

The latest development puts Bailey at the centre of a late transfer-window scramble.

Saudi Arabian side Al Diriyah, newly promoted English club Hull City and Spanish outfit Sevilla have all reportedly sought information on what would be required to bring the Jamaican to their respective clubs.

Hull City’s interest is particularly notable because the English club has previously been linked with Bailey, while Sevilla’s involvement could give the Jamaican an opportunity to return to Spanish football.

Al Diriyah, meanwhile, represents a potential move to the Saudi Pro League.

At this stage, however, the interest from all three clubs remains part of ongoing negotiations rather than a completed transfer.

Bailey’s Villa Future Has Been Uncertain

Bailey’s future at Aston Villa has been the subject of speculation for much of 2026.

The Jamaican originally joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021 and signed a new contract with the club in February 2024.

His 2025-26 season took an unexpected turn when he joined AS Roma on loan in August 2025.

The move was supposed to allow Bailey to continue his career in Serie A, but injuries and limited playing time disrupted his spell in Italy.

Roma and Aston Villa eventually agreed to terminate the loan in January 2026, with the Italian club confirming that Bailey would return to England after making 11 appearances.

His return to Villa did not completely settle questions about his long-term future, and the latest transfer developments suggest another move could now be close.

What Happens Next?

With the transfer window approaching its deadline, Bailey’s situation could develop quickly.

For now, there is no confirmed agreement with Hull City, Sevilla or Al Diriyah, and the Jamaican remains an Aston Villa player.

Romano’s report, however, indicates that talks are active and that Villa are exploring an exit for the winger.

For Bailey, a move could provide an opportunity to restart his club career after a difficult period that included an interrupted loan spell in Italy.

The coming days will determine whether one of the interested clubs can meet Aston Villa’s conditions and secure the signature of the Jamaican international.
