Jamaican dancehall star Spice has finally met Canadian superstar Drake in real life after an AI-generated photo of the two previously went viral online.
The long-awaited meeting took place with fellow Jamaican entertainer Popcaan also present, capturing the moment on camera.
Spice appeared thrilled to finally meet Drake, who she described as one of her favourite people on the planet.
In footage from the meetup, Drake could be heard addressing Popcaan while they prepared to record Spice and Drake together.
“Yo Poppy, put mi pon Spice phone, put mi pon di videolight eno,” Drake said.
Popcaan then jokingly referenced the AI image that had previously brought Spice and Drake into the same viral conversation.
“Ano AI picha dis eno,” Popcaan said while holding the camera.
The exchange appeared to be a fun moment between the three entertainers, with Spice, Drake and Popcaan seemingly enjoying each other’s company.
Drake was dressed entirely in black, while Spice wore a black dress and black glasses. Popcaan also sported a black shirt, paired with orange pants and black-and-orange shoes.
From AI Photo To Reality
The meeting has an interesting backstory involving an AI-generated image that previously circulated online.
The image depicted Drake and Spice sitting together at a fancy restaurant with the Eiffel Tower in the background.
In the AI creation, Drake was wearing a silver suit and appeared to be feeding Spice a bite of food while she sat at the table in a silver dress and her signature blue hair.
Drake himself acknowledged the image when it went viral, responding to Spice with a message that suggested he would rather make the moment happen for real.
“You know I would have taken this pic for real with you,” Drake wrote.
What started as an artificial image has now become a real-life moment, with Spice finally getting the opportunity to meet the rapper.
Spice Congratulates Drake On “FOMO”
Following the meetup, Spice shared the moment with her Instagram followers while also congratulating Drake on “FOMO.”
She expressed just how excited she was to finally meet someone she considers one of her favourite people.
“This ano blooodclaaat Ai 😂😭😭😂 Mi nah bade todey ‼️ I finally met one of my favorites on the Planet!” Spice wrote.
She then praised Drake for the work behind “FOMO,” saying the project left her speechless.
“WOW ‘FOMO’ left me speechless 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 The amount of hard work, dedication, and passion you’ve poured into fomo is truly remarkable,” she added.
Spice also tagged Popcaan while referencing Canada Nights, the Unruly Gang, and OVO in her post.
The meetup effectively turned what was once an AI-generated fantasy into reality, giving Spice a chance to finally share a real moment with Drake after his response to the original viral photo.
